“I love life, and feel that it is a tremendous privilege, joy, and responsibility to experience that gift of life as a musician, speaker, educator, or retreat leader…. I believe that music matters, tremendously, for the health and nourishment of our minds, hearts, bodies, souls, cultures, and communities, so sharing and communicating that message has gradually become my life’s passion! My goal as an artist and human being is to “radiate” ( if that’s the right word ) or to “serve”, through music, by inspiring or encouraging other musicians and music listeners to be aware of its spiritual/emotional power to impact their lives as it has impacted mine.
Personally, I feel most “alive” and “connected” when communicating: performing, speaking, teaching, composing, or conducting – and also, perhaps ironically, when totally alone in prayer, whether outside in nature or in a chapel. I am allergic to routine, addicted to challenges (especially seemingly impossible ones), love coming up with new ideas for programs or projects that will make a difference, and my friends/family complain I am forever trying to squeeze 29 hours of activity into every 24-hour day. I love people, and I love the adventures of traveling and meeting new people, to experience their cultures, hear their stories, and share their lives, if even for a moment. So I am grateful for each opportunity to speak, perform, produce a new festival/concert, or give a master-class, lecture, retreat, or guest-coaching session, anywhere on the planet!”
“This was the most inspiring evening of my entire life. I have no words to explain it. Through both your speaking and performing, you communicated so much more than (just) the content – you shared your joy, and connected to the hearts of each person in the audience”.

“It was a super evening – you are such a glorious ball of fire!”

“Donna Stoering is truly the most visionary spirit I know…..active as a world renowned musician, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, composer, producer, educator, and prayer group leader, she uses all of her gifts only to serve. Selling her home and possessions to fund her global non-profit activities, she shows that you can ‘have it all’ by giving it all away!”

“In my travels as an Artistic Ambassador I have become convinced that music, regardless of culture, creed or religion, can indeed be a powerful force for communion and for the expression of emotions that cross all boundaries and elevate the human spirit.
My dream is to see, someday, a global network of musicians who share that same conviction….musicians of all ages, styles, and cultures, devoting their lives to using all of their gifts (not just the musical ones) in a manner that will bring about that very communion, or unity, which is a necessary element for true peace– building.
And for that reason I have chosen to devote the past sixteen years of my life to projects and programs that I hope will both preserve and celebrate the classical music of many different cultures and build the careers of other musicians by offering them performance and broadcast opportunities through the global movement of Listen for Life, which I was privileged to launch in London in 1998.
Through the dedication and sacrifice of many wonderful musicians and music-listeners, Listen for Life is now a fledgling movement that is small but growing worldwide – its powerful message, media productions and outreach programs have thus far impacted the lives of over 10 million individuals in 55 countries.
We have concluded that the most effective way I can personally continue to serve the message and the mission is to now return my full attention, energy and focus to the concert stage and the speaking/teaching platforms, fulltime, and personally “be” that message and “embody” that mission, if at all possible.
I am meanwhile hoping that this will encourage other music-listeners, performers, educators and media producers to join with corporate sponsors, foundations and individual donors in continuing to support and spread awareness, not just of Listen for Life, but about the all-important role that music and musicians have in our global society, which goes way beyond entertainment, creativity or mere self-expression.
My personal mission as a speaker, educator and performer is now to help all people become aware of music’s power and impact in their lives, and to encourage/enable other musicians to use their gifts for the highest purposes, thus helping contribute to peace in individual hearts, communities, and the world.”
